Location:

The Putamen is located at the base of the forebrain

 

Function:

To regulate movements and influence various types of learning. Also plays a role in degenerative disease.

 

Mnemonic:

Michael J. Fox moving around in pudding

 

explination:

Michael J. Fox represents the Putamens role in degenerative diseases (ie. Parkinsons Disease). Moving around in pudding represents that damage to the Putamen (Pudding) would result in degraded rate of movement like trying to move around in pudding.
