Pineal Gland

Page history last edited by hana Lang 8 mos ago

- also called the pineal body.

-is an endocrine gland

Location:

-located near the centre of the brain

- at the bottom back of the corpus callosum above the cerebellum

Functions:
- Production of DMT before death and during a near-death experience.
- Pseudoscience claims it opens our 'third eye'.
- regulates the production of melatonin, which helps to regulate our sleep and wake cycles.

Mnemonics:
- DMT is also a drug that has been called the 'bungee jumping of psychedelics'.
- .: One can imagine a bunch of DMT molecules bungee jumping down from the pineal gland and touching the cerebellum, temporarily modifying sensory perception and motor control.

- Some lizards have a 'pineal eye' or 'third eye', they also have a large amount of DMT constantly in their system.

- Parental body, which tells you when you sleep and get up (by the production of melatonin) (A.C.C.).

Pineal gland

Responsible for the production of Melatonin, and sexual developemtn. Also wedges between the two thalamic bodies.

Think of the pineal gland as the "puberty gland". During puberty, teenagers tend to sleep lots, and also begin to further develop sexually (sexual development may remind you of a penis...or an EEL in the pants..as in pinEEL) , They also generally live at home with their folks. Their parents are represented as the two thalamic bodies to which the "puberty gland" is wedged between.

When the child is endlessly crying, the tiny pine cone shaped music box, that’s in the centre of the room, produces a soft melody to lull the child to sleep

-endlessly crying refers to the endocrine

- the pine cone is the shape of the pineal gland

-the soft melody being produced is the melatonin that gets produced
